EMPIRE MIGRATION.
THE BRITISH BILL. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Received April 4, 5.5 pm. London, April 3. Mr. Chamberlain, replying to a question, said he hoped the Empire Migration Bill would be introduced before Easter. The director of emigration for the Church Army, in a letter to the Press, discusses Sir Rider Haggard’s contention that sexes should be balanced and provision made for families in all emigration schemes. He points out that the views are idealistically true, but the immigration policy is not made in London, but in the Dominions- Nevertheless, if Britain is to be a partner in emigration schemes she can reasonably claim some voifte in their conception and execution.
