DISTRICT NEWS.
RAHOTU. (Front Our Own Correspondent.) The bazaar held in aid of the public hall funds took place on Thursday and Friday, 23rd and 24th. It was opened by Mr. Hawken, M.P., and proved a great success. The committee are to be congratulated upon the manner in which they worked, especially the ladies, who worked not only at the bazaar, but for weeks before hand. The hall committee should present each one of them with a gold crown, or a nice dance in their honor. I understand the results are far better than was ever anticipated, seeing money is so scarce, about £l5O being taken. The sureties for the bank overdraft will now -have the satisfaction of knowing they will not be called upon to foot the bill. Residents of the district are also to be congratulated upon the way in. which they came to light. I am pleased to say Mrs. W. R. Wright, who has been ill for some time, is now well enough to leave the hospital, and her friends are looking forward to seeing her home again. The local dairy company tjs’A Is per lb butter-fat on 24th. : ■
