A CYCLONIC STORM.
DAMAGE AT WARKWORTH. By Telegraph.—Press Association Wellington. Last Night. The postmaster at Wark worth telegraphs to the chief postmaster at Wellington as follows: “A cyclonic storm struck this district at 6 o’clock last evening. Osborne’s house at Wayby (10 miles from Warkworth) was demolished; Martin’s house at Warkworth was demolished, and some of the inmates severely injured; Wilson’s house at Springlands was struck by lightning. Considerable damage was done to orchards, fences, etc. Numerous telephone and telegraph wires are down.”
