AGAINST DIVINE TEACHING.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —The recent speech in Auckland by an accredited Christian prelate, which appeared in your last Monday’s issue, is entirely antagonistic to the teaching and spirit of the Divine Master, as well as being an unwarrantable and vindictive affront against the Empire under whose just laws and protection we dwell in safety. It is impossible to believe that the prelate referred to has ever been influenced by the teachings of One who said, “My Kingdom is not of this world; if my Kingdom were of this world then would my servants fight.” How soon the prelate at a gathering of his co-religionists let his disloyalty ooze out, but, “Out of- the abundance o-f the heart, the mouth speaketh.” He could not keep it in!—l am, etc., New’ Plymouth, March 21, 1922.
