ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A YOUNG WOMAN’S END. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A young woman, named Eva Simes, died at the Wellington Hospital under circumstances that are being investigated by the police. It is understood that deceased belongs to Canterbury. She came to Wellington recently from the Wanganui district. ELDERLY MAN’S DEATH. From Where, Last bright. An elderly man named Edward Richard Brewer was brought to the hospital in an ambulance, but on arrival there life was found to be extinct. A CLERK’S SUICIDE. Dunedin, Last Night. Cecil .Lawrence Clifford, a clerk employed in the stationery department of the New Zealand Insurance Company, was found in the office, in a room, unconscious, with the gas turned on full, but not lit. A doctor was sent for, but could only pronounce life extinct. Deceased was single, twenty-four years of age, and a returned soldier with three years’ service. At the inquest a verdict of suicide was returned.
