STRATFORD—OKAHUKURA LINE.
AMOUNT OF EXPENDITURE. (By Wire.—Special Correspondent.) z Wellington, Last Night. The expenditure upon the StratfordOkahukura railway up to March 31, 1921, amounted to £283,324 at the east end and £754,648 at the west end, making a total of £1,037,972. This expenditure gave 42 miles 2A chains of line open for traffic. The total length of the line when completed will be 112 mlies 47 chains. The .figures for the expenditure on the line during the current financial year are not yet available, but the financial statement made it clear that the amount would not be large. The expenditure quoted does not include interest on the money that has been expended on the line.
