JThe former agents of the Germ an-Aus-tralian Line have been approached by the line to accept the agency again, but have declined, stating that they could not forget the misery Germany brought upon the world. LEAD WORKS CLOSING. Sydney, March 22. It is officially announced that the smelting works of the Sulphide Corporation, at Cockle Creek, are closing at the end of April, throwing 400 men idle, in consequence of the decreased output of lead concentrates at Broken Hill. MAHENO LAID UP. Sydney, March 22. The Union Company has definitely decided to lay up the Maheno. Members of the crew on the New Zealand article have been repatriated.
