Christchurch, Last Nigh' ■ An agreement has been arrived at " tween the exporters and auctioneers regard to the collecting of the levy o meat for export imposed by the Govern 1 ment in-connection the new meat poo> system. A deputation representing the Exporters’ Association of New Zealand, waited upon the Christchurch Woolbrokers’ Association, which, includes stock auctioneers, and it was decided in accordance w r ith the expressed desire of the producers that they should pay the levy, and to issue the following formal notice by exporters to auctioneers?— “Re meat export tax, -we formally give you notice tluto for the purpose of carrying out the order of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board for a levy of Id per carcase on fat lambs and sheep and 2d on fat cattle, all our bids in auction from this date will be subject to the amount of the levy, and the gross amounts of all invoice® rendered to us subsequent to sales must have this deduction made from them. We have already instructed our buyers that all purchases made by private treaty will be subject to the amount of this levy.”
