The Times correspondent, reviewing the Prince’s visit to India, states that, while the fact of the Prince’s visit made conditions worse everywhere, he left them better. This was chiefly due to his personality. What evil there was wimp from seditionmongers, and the Prince did all he could to outweigh the evil. “I believe the preponderance of opinion in India will be that the visit has done much good. Apart from all immediate controversies the Prince has gained a knowledge of India which canfail U ba Pi ("hit to the Empire.”
