THE ROYAL SHOW.
ABANDONED FOR THIS YEAR. •EXIGENCIES OF FINANCE. Palmerston North, March 15. The Manawatu A. and P. Asso'ciation has been anticipating that the first Royal Show in the Dominion would be held in Palmerston North next November, and has been making preparations for it in more ways than one It has therefore come as a great disappointment to the association and the people of the district to learn that no Royal Show will be held this year. The association has received a communication from the Council of Agriculture. stating that owing to the exigencies of finance it has been found impossible to hold the Royal Show at Palmerston North this year. It had been hoped that the breeders of the Dominion would have provided sufficient funds to warrant the holding of the show in 1922, but the appeal* for assistance had been somewhat disappointing. Hence it had been decided to postpone the first Royal Show until 1923. Thia would, in tlie ordinary course of events, be held In Palmerston North.
