At the Criminal Appeal Court the application of Colin Ross for a re-hearing on a charge of murder has commenced, the chief grounds of the application being that the judge should have instructed the jury that it was possible to return a verdict of manslaughter, and he should have uttered a warning as to the dangerous and suspicious nature of Sxdie of the evidence.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. Ross was found guilty and sentenced to death for the murder of the girl Tirtschke.
