DASH FOR LIBERTY.
ESCAPEE PROMPTLY CAPTURED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, March 13. A daring and seemingly ingenious escape from gaol was accomplished yesterday morning by Charles Campbell Dawkins, who managed to get away from the Terrace Gaol. His freedom was brief, however, for he had the ill-luck to run into a prison warder who was just coining on duty. Dawkins was promptly detained and taken back to gaol, after having been away only about ten minutes.
