NEW PORT RECORD.

LINER LEITRIM TO BERTH. The Federal liner Leitrim, which is due at New Plymouth to-morrow, will establish a new record at the port, for she will be the largest steamer to berth at the wharf. She is a vessel of 9540 tons and her length overall is 484 feet. She is in command of Captain A. Robertson. The Leitrim has previously visited this coast, but on each occasion she has loaded in the Waitara road-stead.. On it was originally intended that she should go to Waitara, as all the cargo awaiting her is -from Waitara, but it has now been decided to berth the Leitrim at Plymouth. She will load 16,000 freight earcases and 500 hides, which will be sent to New Plymouth from Messrs. Borthwick’s works at Waitara.. Another big liner due this month is the Pakeha, let down to arrive at New Plymouth about March 26. She is a vessel of over 10,000 tons, and her arrival will establish a new record.
