SHOW AT CAMBRIDGE By Telegraph.—Press Association. Cambridge, Last Night. People’s Day at the Waikato Central Agricultural Association’s show to-day was favored with delightful weather, and the attendance was most satisfactory. The entries were above the average and the classes for Jerseys, milking Shorthorns, Holsteins, hacks, and 'harness horses and hunters were particularly well filled with animals of exceptional quality. Major Samuel’s El Arish won the hunting championship. The horse competition caused great interest, the jumping being of a high order. PUBLIC WORK-S MINISTER. Westport, Last Night. The Minister for Public Works arrived to-night overland from Collingwood, via Karamea, where he was banqueted and received several deputations. Tonight the Minister was given a civic welcome in the Town Hall and received deputations. The principal one was to urge the speedy completion of the Buller 0 Gorge railway. The Minister leaves via the coastal road and tracks for Greymouth in the morning.
