DISTRICT NEWS
TAHORA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) During the last week or so the Tahora station has had quite an animated appearance, as the farmers have been endeavoring to get their wool off to the recent sales. There have recently been several changes of residence here. Mr. Kerr has ’ust gone into the Tahora boarding-house, which has for some time been carried on by Mr. and Mrs. Grant. Mr. McGregor has bought a farm at Kohuratahi, and Mr. Graham has gone into his property. A number of the Tahora public works men are at present working at Te Wera. The next event of importance here will be the annua] school picnic and prize distribution. This is always looked forward to by both parents and children. It will be held in about a fortnight. For some time we experienced a very dry spell, and the gardens and pastures were beginning to look very parched. However, rain fell last week, and everything is now looking very frqsh. The atmosphere is perceptibly cooler, and one sees the first indications of approaching winter.
