INGLEWOOD

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Mr. M. Hartigan, who comes pretty frequently by motor to Inglewood from the Opuhe Road, some 3 or 4 miles eastwood of Tarata, is a lover of the homing pigeon. A few days ago he brought four of his birds with him to Inglewood, and released them just opposite the Coffee Palace as soon as he arrived. When he got home the same evening, he found, by comparing notes that the birds had been a little under 16 minutes between being let go at Inglewood and caught at their home. He says the keeping of homers is a. pleasant hobby. Owner and family are very fond of individual birds. Some times they carry messages of importance, and’ the children love them, and through them learn kindness to all animals.
