ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
FATAL RIFLE ACCIDENT. By Telegraph —Pres* Association. Taumaranui, March 7. The body of Evan Sarjeant was discovered in some bush three miles from Ohura with a service rifle lying alongside. Deceased had apparently been out pig-shooting and climbed a tree in order to get a better shot at some pigs, but in getting down again had slipped and the rifle, turning round had exploded against his head which was badly shattered, being almost unrecognisable.
