DISABLED SOLDIERS.
PLEA FOR EMPLOYMENT. PENSIONS NOT SUFFICIENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last__Night. A deputation composed of representatives of the War Relief Association, Repatriation Board, and New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association, under the leadership of General Sir A. Russell, waited upon the Hon. D. H. Guthrie and the Hon. G. J. Anderson to-day to place their combined views before the Ministers in regard to the absorption of unemployed disabled soldiers in various Government departments. It was forcibly pointed out that in many eases the pension granted to a disabled soldier was itself insufficient to k®ep a soldier, and a light job at a corresponding wage rate was necessary to augment the pension allowance. A scheme for the employment of such Soldiers was submitted to 1116 Ministers by the deputation, and the Ministers, in reply, stated that they wopld place the whole matter before Cabinet for further consideration.
