ASSOCIATION GAME. THE ENGLISH CUP TIE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received March 5, 5.5 p.un. London, March 4. The fourth round of the Association Cup Is arousing tremendous Interest. The most attractive match Is Cardiff v. Tottenham Hotspurs, the present holders, who are bracketed in fourth position in the first league division. Cardiff is the first Welsh team to reach the fourth round in the cup. Their rise since they were promoted from second league this season has been phenomenal, and until beaten by Chelsea last Saturday they had not tasted defeat since December 6. The Tottenham Hotspurs have also been doing splendidly and a rare struggle is expected, as the teaizns are regarded as tha most scientific in the county. Another keen match la expected between Notts County and Aston Villa, who are old cup tiq rivals. Received, March 5, 5.5 p.m. London, March 4. The Association Cup fourth round resulted: Notts County 2 v. Aston Villa 2; Cardiff City 1 v. Tottenham Hotspurs 1. In an international Association match Scotland defeated Ireland by 2 to 1. RETURN OF LEAGUE TEAM Received March 5, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, March 5. The League football team has returned and had a great reception. All were unanimous in declaring that they had a royal time in Britain. They had no fault to find with the British football crowds, though some decisions of the referees were puzzling. Members of the Tukapa Football Club are reminded that the annual uneeting takes place this evening at the Soldiers’ Club. Members find intending members are cordially invited.
