HOUSE OF LORDS.

TO ADMIT WOMEN MEMBERS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, March 2. The committee on privileges granted Lady Rhondda’s petition, claiming the right to sit in the House of Lords. The decision confers the privileges on 19 other baronesses. Received March 3, 7.35 p.m. London, March 2. Lady Rhondda’s petition has established the right of twenty-four peeresses to sit in the House of Lords. Her claim is based on the contention that the Sex Disqualification Removal Act was intended to abolish all sex disqualifications which prevented the exercise of public functions. The Crown did not oppose the claim.—United Service.
