SUPPORT OF CHURCHES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, March 1. As the result of the resolution of the Presbyterian General Assembly strongly approving the League of Nations and initiating action among the churches, a meeting was held yesterday of representatives of all the churches of New Zealand, including the Roman Catholics. Dr. Gibb, who presided, read a letter from Archbishop O’Shea, stating that the object would have the wholehearted sympathy and support of Catholics. Bishop Sprott wrote: "In a movement so eminently Christian there m room for some specific action on the part of the churches.” The meeting resolved to issue a statement strongly supporting the League of Nations and giving expression to Uxe ever-deepening conviction of Christian people that there should ba no more war.
