OVERSEAS TRADE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —vopyrlght. London, Feb. 27. The Department of Overseas Trade, in view of the necessity for a reduction in the public expenditure, has decided to dispense with the services .of trade correspondents—Mr. Weatherill at Brisbane, Mr. Monkman at Dunedin, and also three South Africans. CONFERENCE TREATIES. Washington, Feb. 27. Senators of the Foreign Relations Committee unanimously ordered a favorable report on the two Chinese | treaties. This completes the committee’s work on the Conference treaties. ALLEGED WHEAT CORNER. London, Feb. 27. The Morning Post says that the biggest wheat corner on record is being attempted by Australian speculators in 'conjunction with Canadians and Americans. They are holding back seven million bushels for an advance of a shilling in June.
