THOUSANDS WILL BE WORKLESS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Feb. ir6, 11.5 p.m. London, Feb. 25. Engineering lock-out notices affecting 350,000 workers were posted to-day. The employers issued a statement emphasising that the issue is not overtime, but the fundamental principle whether they shall exorcise the managerial functions over their own works. The Trades Union Congress will be asked to take concerted action in the event of a lockout operating.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
