LOYALTY OF METHODISTS.
MESSAGE TO THE KING. WORK AT CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Methodist Conference resolved to send an address to the King expressing the loyalty of all Methodists in New Zealand. A message of congratulation is to be sent to the Rev. Josiah Ward, of Carterton, on completion of 50 years’ ministry in New Zealand. Committee work occupied this afternoon and an official thanksgiving service was held this evening, the president (the Rev. Laws) preaching on “Remembrance and Faithfulness.” Auckland, Feb. 23. At the Methodist Conference the following laymen in various districts were elected to the stationary committee:—Auckland, Messrs. Veale, PeaK and Holdsworth; South Auckland, Messrs. Tidd and Rayner; Wanganui and Taranaki, Mr. E. Dixon, M.P., and Mr. Ambury; Hawke’s Bay and Manawatu, Messrs. Hodder and Venables; Wellington, Messrs. Daniel and Denton; Nelson, Messrs. Penny and Pulley; North Canterbury, Mr. L. M. Isitt, M.P., and Messrs. Kershaw and Buttle; South Canterbury, Messrs. Watson and Workman; Otago, Messrs. Roseveare and George; Solomon Islands, Mr. Field.
