ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
INQUESTS AT PALMERSTON. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., Feb. 22. Two inquests were held to-day by Mr. Stout, SM. In the case of Arthur Samuel Andrews, victim of the Bunnythorpe railway fatality on Monday morning, evidence went to show that deceased apparently failed to observe the train till approaching the crossing, when the horse took fright and bolted on the line. Two warning signals had been sounded by the engine driver, who was exonerated by ths coroner, who returned a verdict of accidental death. The second case was that of Carl Dwyer, cook at the Whakaronga Dairy Co., who committed suicide by shooting himself while in a fit of despondency over projected divorce proceedings. He was living apart from his wife, a Napier resident, who, in evidence, said that her late husband was weak-minded. A formal verdict was returned.
