BRITISH MEAT SUPPLY.
ONE-HALF IMPORTED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. London, Feb. 17. Practically one-half of the United Kingdom’s meat supply is now imported, as compared with a little over onethird ten years ago, says Weddel’s Annual Review. The total importations of frozen and chilled meat in 1921 exceeded all records, amounting to 917,000 tons of beef, mutton, and lamb, compared with 810,000 in 1920, excluding live stock and fresh killed meat, which last year was 26,000 tons. The Home production is estimated at 1,056,000 tons.—Reuter.
