PROPOSED ‘-CUT” IN BRITAIN. CONSIDERATION DEFERRED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—copyright. Received Feb. 17, 5.5 p.m. London, Feb. 16. In the House of Commons, Mr. Austen Chamberlain said it was not intended to carry out this year the Geddes Economy Committee’s reports and recommendations regarding defence. The possibility of combining certain administrative services of the War Office, the Admiralty and the Air Ministry would be explored by technical committees in. connection with the committee on defence. Mr. Chamberlain said the views expressed in the Admiralty memorandum on the Geddes report should not be taken as the considered decision of the C4overnment, which had not yet formulated an opinion.—Aus.-N.Z.
