The more industries we have the better it is for the progress of the town and province. A factory has recently been opened at the corner of Courtenay and -Eliot Streets, New Plymouth by Mr. P. F. Burrows, lithographer, and it is the proprietor’s intention to cater for all lithographic work in each and every branch of the art. A modern plant has been installed, which is now in full running order. Already a number of very artistic and well-finished pieces of work have ’been turned out, and the factory is running at top pressure. Business and professional men requiring fine art litho, work will find Burrows’ establishment ready to fulfil any order. A trial will convince that the work turned out from this litho, press is well done throughout, denoting that only skilled craftsmen are employed.—Advt. We wish to draw attention to Dockrill’s advertisement of special reductions in seasonable footwear. These goods have 'been reduced below cost, being or good quality. They are exceptional bargains at the prices quoted. A typical Melbourne, Ltd., Bargain Sale will commence at all the firm’s branches on Tuesday next, 21st inst. The sale is being held in consequence of the firm’s annual stocktaking, and many drastic reductions are. being made in order to reduce stocks to a normal basis. Watch for particulars. In the realm of household economy the discovery of “Fairy Wonder” washing powder has come as a boon and a 'blessing to tired and overworked housewives. There is nothing to equal it’ for washing clothes snow-white without the aid of°soap or wash-board drudgery. Try it. Of all grocers. The New Plymouth Horticultural Society, while providing for adulbs, also sets apart several classes for children only—floral designs and vegetable collections for boys and girls; cookery classes and vegetables for schools. Special prizes are allocated for all these, no entry fee being charged. Parents and teachers might well encourage the juniors, who, however, are not debarred from entering in any of the other glasses. Now then, juniors, show what you can do! Entries may be sent in up £o Tuasday evening next*
