The most interesting match of the billiard amateur championship was commenced between Fry and McLeod, a Middlesborough artisan who. is regarded as the dark horse of the championship. He developed his skill at the Workmen’s Club. On the first day McLeod made 1002, including breaks of 113, 108, Fry made 719, Including breaks of 89, 84. Received Feb. 15, 8.15 p.m. Londqn, Feb. 16. McLeod 2000 beat Fry 1393. McLeod led all the way, showing the highest amateur skill seen for many years. He is expected to win the later rounds easily.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. , McCONACHY v. FALKINER. London, Feb. 14. McConachy is 8317, including a break of 136, while Falkiner has reached 10.541, including breaks of 205, 120, 117, 116. Received Feb. 15, 5.5 p.m. London, Feb. 15.
