ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A STOREKEEPER DROWNED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston, North, Feb. 15. William Arthur Longworth, storekeeper and mail contractor, Ashhurst, was drowned in the Manawatu River near the entrance to the Gorge late yesterday afternoon. Deceased was bathing with two companions when he suddenly disappeared. His body has been recovered. VICTIM OF A COLLISION. Palmerston North. Feb. 15. Cyril Edwards, who was injured in a collision on the Bunnythorpe—Feilding Road on January 25, died in hospital last night.
