The provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union decided, in conformity with a decision of the last provincial conference, and pending confirmation by the branches concerned, that six seats be contested at the next general election, viz., Bay of Islands, Marsden, Thames, Ohinemuri, Waikato and Waitomo. It was decided to appoint a leader for the farmers’ political party and to make a tentative selection of candidates for the seats mentioned.
