FINED FOR SMUGGLING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Feb. 13. Mr. Poynton, S.M., fined F. Bancroft £5O for ‘attempting to smuggle goods. The case was heard on Friday last. THE WARSHIP MELBOURNE. Dunedin, Feb. 13. The warship Melbourne sails for Bluff and Hobart this afternoon. The chairman of the Otago Harbor Board sent a parting message to Admiral Dumaresque: “Au re voir and kia ora. Australian warships are always welcome in Otago.”
