WAREHOUSE ABLAZE.

FIRE AT INVERCARGILL. By Telegraph.—Tress Association. Invercargill, Last Night. At 10.15 to night a fire broke out in the warehouse of Broad, Small and Co., Ltd., hardware merchants, Dee Street. The outbreak originated in a large brick bulk store situated at the rear of the retail premises and filled with merchandise, including a shipment landed from the Westmoreland to-day. The efforts of the brigade were directed to confining the fire to this building, in which they were successful, aided by an absence of wind. At 11.40 the fire was still burning fiercely, but it appeared to be well in hand. No details of the insurances are available; it is understood they are distributed among a large number of offices.
