CRISIS OVER THE STRIKE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. Received Feb. 13, 7.25 p.in. Berlin, Feb 13. A crisis arose during a debate in the Reichstag on the strike. The National and People’s Parties denounced Herr Wirth as over-lenient in the negotiations, while the Independents and the Communists declared he was over-harsh. Correspondents agree that the crisis is serious in view of the Genoa Conference, pointing out that the Opposition parties altogether have a majority of two over the whole Government group. In view of the impossibility of any Opposition group forming a Ministry the defeat of Herr Wirth would mean an election, and probably Herr Ebert’s re-signation.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. NO CONFIDENCE MOTIONS. Berlin, Feb. 12. Owing to the intrigues of the National People’s Party four no-confidence motions were submitted to the Reichstag on Saturday. Herr Wirth peremptorily demanded a motion of confidence. A decision is expected on Wednesday.
