FIENDISH BRUTALITY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Delhi, Feb. 11. Investigation of the recent outbreak in the Chaurichaura and Gorakhpur district shows that the murders and burning of the bodies of the police was carried out with the greatest brutality. The number of those murdered was two sub-inspectors, one head constable, fifteen constables, four watchmen, and a servant. Two dead rioters were found. The entire block of buildings was a mass of ruins. UNLAWFUL ASSEMBLIES. Delhi, Feb. 11. In reply to Ghandi’s protests the Government announces its intention to rigorously pursue its declared policy of dispersing unlaw-ful assemblies by force. GHANDI ABANDON’S CAMPAIGN. Delhi, Feb. 12. Ghandi has temporarily abandoned his campaign of civil disobedience.
