The death is reported at Wellington of Mr. John Kershaw, aged 71, grand secretary of the New Zealand 1.0.0. F.

An Auckland telegram reports the death of the Rev. John King Davis, assistant master of the Boys’ Grammar School, aged 64. Mr. A. V. Sturtevant, District Land Registrar at Christchurch, and formerly of New Plymouth, has been transferred to Auckland, where he will occupy a similar position.

Mr. Justice Chapman, who is to preside over the Supreme Court sessions which open at New Plymouth to-mor-row. will arrive by the* mail Train tonight.

The death occurred at Wellington on Friday of Mr. Paul C. Corliss, Commissioner of Stamps, Wellington, at the age of 65. The late Mr. Corliss joined the Wellington office of the Stamp Department 52 years ago. He served at Invercargill, and subsequently was ap- ’ pointed deputy-commissioner at Danedin. About fourteen ye.ars ago he was made commissioner at Wellington. Lieut-Coloncl James Campbell, of Connaught, Ireland, who is touring New’ Zealand, spent the week-end m New Plymouth, arriving by the mail train on Saturday night. Yesterday morning • Coloiiel Campbell visited Pukekura ParK and several private gardens, while in the afternoon he went to the mountain. The beauty of the town impressed Colonel Campbell, who w r as delighted with the many places of interest around ;New Plymouth. He leaves for WangaI nui this morning.
