PRICE OF PHOSPHATE.
FURTHER REDUCTION POSSIBLE. The Minister of Agriculture (Hon. W. Noswortjiy) told Mr. E. Newman (Menawatu) in the House of Representatives on Friday that the price of Nauru Island phosphate had recently been reduced by £1 a ton. He hoped to be able to make a further reduction within a reasonable time. A great deal depended upon the freight charges.
