PLUNKET ART UNION

LAST MONTH FOR BUYING TICKETS. The sale of tickets for the Wellington Plunket Home Art Union will positively cease on February 28. It therefore behoves all intending purchasers to buy without delay. The cost of a ticket is only half-a-crown, whilst the prize is £4OO worth of gold specie—surely g good return for such a modest investment.

Wellington is making a supreme effort to purchase, equip and endow a Plunket Home worthy of a city its size. Auckland, Christchurch, and Dunedin arc already provided with suitable headquarters.- but Wellington has had only two cramped and crowded rooms in a building in Courtenay Place, in which to receive mothers and babies. However, enough money has been raised to pay the first instalments on a fine property in Kent Terrace, and funds are now wanted to complete the good work. Tickets may be obtained from J. R. McKenzie, fancy goods dealer. Cuba Street and Willis Street, Wellington, and branches throughout New Zealand; and from leading retailers, tobacconists, and hairdressers; also from the Plunket rooms, or the Hon. Secretary. P.O. Box 208. Wellington. Mail orders should enclose stamped, addressed envelope. Donations to the fund wifi also be gratefully received by the treasurers, Slessrs. Watkins. Hull. Hunt and Wheeler. Accountants’ Chambers, Johnston Street,
