BIG RISE IN MEAT.
LAMB AND MUTTON DEARER. By Telegraph.— -Frees Association. Wellington, Fab. 8. A phenomenal rise in the prices of meat is reported. Lamb has advanced 4d and mutton 2|d, equal to 80 and 75 per cent, respectively. The master butchers passed a resolution asking the Government, In tht interest of consumers, to commandeer the necessary supplies for New Zealand in connection with the meat pool scheme.
