A GALLANT RESCUE. » VICTIM DIES FROM WOUNDS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, Feb. 5. , Michael Coghlan, a prominent member of the Coogee Life-saving Club, was killed by a shark while swimming in the surf. Coghlan’s death was witnessed by a crowd assembled to watch a surf carnival. J. Chalmers, a returned soldier, swam to the rescue while the shark was still attacking. He got Coghlan free. The swimming champion Baurepaire went to his assistance/ and then brought the injured man ashore wh'ete he succumbed to frightful wounds. The carnival was abandoned.
