The adjourned meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Samuel Reynolds was held at the Stratford Court to-day. Mr. J. C. Robins, district manager of the Public Trust Office, presided. Mr. Robins reported that the committee which had been set up to interview the two soldiers who were at present working the farm suggested that Mr. Gould t&ould be, employed at £l3 per month to carry on the farm for the present time. A difficulty which had to be contended with was the interest which was due to Mr. Suhan. They had written and asked Mr. Suhan to forego the year’s interest, and they would have to come to some arrangement with him. Although only 18 cows were being milked now next year 40 would be milked. Mr. Abraham moved that Messrs. Robins and Phillips should be appointed to act on behalf of the creditors, with reference to the farming of the property, and to employ Mr. Gould at the salary, of £l3 per month to manage the farm. The motion was seconded by Mr. Julian and carried. KING’S CINEMA THEATRE. TO-NIGHT, The Goldwyn feature, “The Woman in Room 13”, starring Pauline Frederick, will be the star attraction at the King’s Theatre, Stratford, to-day at the matinee and to-night. The supporting items include gazette, educational and comedy. “REPUTATION” UNIVERSAL DE LUXE ON MONDAY NIGHT ONLY. Few screen actresses have Priscilla Dean’s queer gift of dynamic charm, a charm of movement and moods which transforms Miss Dean into the most distinctive star now posturing in motion pictures. In the latest Universal Jewel production, “Reputation”, to be shown at the King’s Theatre, Stratford, on Monday night only, she plays two roles with a natural force which lifts the picture entirely out of the customary stream of celluloid descending on us from California. As Lura Figlan, the drug-wrecked actress, and as Pauline, her purer daughter, she has disintegrated herself into two amazingly different characters, and yet plays each with the same delightful ease. “Reputation” has been built around a scenario which is vastly superior to the ordinary American standard, and the picture is technically more than satisfactory. The plot is concerned with the impersonation by an unknown chorus girl of a leading actress who deserts ap expensive production. for drugs. How Pauline is encored in her mother’s place, and fights for the reputation of Laura Figlan, which Laura Figlan has herself sullied, is told in seven very eventful reels, not one of which (strange to say) is superfluous. The theatre scenes in particular are very fine, and the action ranges from a New England hamlet to the outer darkness of Limehouse. The prices for this huge production will be: D.C., 2/-; stalls, Is 6d, plus tax. Seats may be booked at the theatre office.
