WOOLLEN INDUSTRY.
FINANCIAL CREDIT SCHEME. FOR HELPING THE TRADE. ' By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Feb. 3, 8.30 p.m. London, Feb. 2. The Daily Telegraph’s Bradford correspondent says that as the result of negotiations with bankers, the Government and others since October, as to * credit insurance scheme being arranged, many important woollen firms who were badly hit by the slump, had arranged to spread the payment of their liabilities over a period of years, but still required capital wherewith to carry on their business. A scheme has now been arranged whereby fifty subscribers will each subscribe JMOOO, and will also guarantee £20,000, thus making a fund of £l,050,000, which will be used to guarantee the credit of merchants for home and foreign trade, thus providing work for the woollen and worsted industries. —Aus.-N.Z.
