A FARMER’S SUICIDE.
A PATHETIC NOTE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Wilfred Pritchard Dowdle, a fanner, who had been missing from his home at Carkville since Wednesday, was found dead yesterday, with the top of his head blown off. A double-barrelled gun was beside the body. An inquest was opened and adjourned. A note found on the body read: “Dear Father, —Please forgive me for this; I cannot help it. I am suffering terribly with my head. Don’t worry over me. I have tried hard not to do it. Good-bye to you all.”
