FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE.
SPREADING RAPIDLY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Jan. 30. A joint conference meets on Tuesday to consider the foot and mouth disease, which is spreading with remarkable rapidity, particularly in Scotland. Thirty-three counties in England and Scotland are now subject to orders prohibiting cattle movements. In a single week infection ran like wild-fire from county to county. The origin is unknown, though some experts blame importation from Ireland.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
