T HE PRINCE IN INDIA.
VISIT TO NAGPUR. By Telegraph.—-Press Assn —Copyright. Delhi, Jan. 30. Symptoms of Ghandism were apparent in connection with the Prince’s one day visit to Nagpur, en route to Indore but the boycott movement failed. The route through the European quarter was well lin*d with Indians and the good reception was participated in by hundreds of natives from the surrounding districts. Despite the shortness of the visit, the inhabitants went to great trouble and expense in decorating the streets. The Ghandists signallv failed in an attempt to picket the ‘railway station and bazaars. Shops closed in the native quarter of -the city, but outside that business proceeded as usual. The city is on holiday. The chief official ceremony was the Durbar, when the Prince received the homage of feudatory chiefs, and an inspection of troops and scouts. A State dinner followed.—Aus.-N.Z.
