PAHIATUA SHOW. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Pahiatua, Last Night. There was a record gate at the A. and P. Show, which was held in threatening weather. Championships were awarded as follows: Milking Shorthorn, bull and cow, M. Alpaes; Jerseys, A. Edie; Holsteins, bull and cow, L. Hughes; Romneys, F. J. Blatchford; Lincolns, R. M. Burns; reserves Jerseys, A. Edie; Holstein bull, F. J. Clarke.
ALLEGED MANSLAUGHTER. Auckland, Last Night. Russell Bedford Graham pleaded not guilty and was committed for trial on a charge of the manslaughter of a 10-year-old girl named Madge Cooper, who was knocked down by a motor car on the Manuka u road on December 19. FALSE INCOME RETURNS. Auckland, Last Night. A maximum fine of £lOO was imposed on Douglas Rolls Revell, a public accountant, who was charged with aiding and abetting House and Dakin g, drapers, of Hamilton, to make a false return of income.
