TWO SERIOUS OUTBREAKS. VERY HEAVY DAMAGE. By Tslatraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. Sydney, Jan. 27. Two ebrly morning fires, one at Grace Bros.’ furniture factory in Parramatta Road and the other at Lassetter’s big stores in York Street, started almost simultaneously and both are still ablaze. The brigade is overtaxed and the threatened damage is very serious. Later. Both the fires are subdued. In Lassetter’s buildings and th? three top floors of the five-storey building, heavily stocked with machinery, were gutted. The damage on account of fire and water will be very heavy. In Grace Brothers’ building the two top floors are gutted and stocks of furniture destroyed or damaged. The total losses will run into big figures.
