By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Jan. 26, 7.25 p.m. London. Jan. 26.
The Scottish Wages Board rejected a claim by Scottish railway companies to an increase in the standard working day from eight to ten hours, but allowed the eight hours being spread over up to ten hours, and in exceptional cases where work was intermittent to twelve hours. The board also rejected a claim to discontinue special payment for night duty. They allowed a sliding scale reduction of the wages award averaging an increase of five shillings a week granted in June, 1920. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
