The remainder of the South Taranaki quota were taken on to Ngamotu, the headquarters of the general picnie.

Farther down the beach near the Breakwater the watersiders foregathered for their annual picnic. A holiday was declared on the wharf and a number took part in an enjoyable programme of sports events, treasure hunts and beach games. Several motor launches did good business on excursions round the harbor, while the liner Port Albany at the wharf was an added attraction.

The equipment provided at Kawaroa for the pleasure of the young folk was eagerly availed of rfhd the appointments of this popular pleasure ground were favorably commented on by the visitors. The sea bathing yesterday offered an irresistible attraction and consequently the greater number of visitors gathered at the Ngamotu beach, which throughout tKe day was a pleasant scene of summer revelry.
