New Plymouth, which had to be postponed last week on account of the weather, took plac.e i at the New Plymouth courts on Thurs- I day afternoon. Ladies’ Singles. —Mrs. Hill lost to Miss Ballantyne o—-7; Mrs. Curtis lost to Miss Valentine 6—7; Miss Curtis beat Miss Winfield 7 —5; Mrs. Budge lost to Mrs. Nicholson I—7. , Ladies’ Doubles.—Mesdam|s Hill and Budge lost to Miss Winfield and' Mrs. Nicholson 5—7; Mrs. and Miss Curtis lost to Misses Ballantyne and Valentine I—7.
Combined Doubles^ —Mrs. Hill and Anderson lost to Miss Ballantyne and Balharry 3—7; Mrs. Curtis and Curtis lost to Miss Valentine and King 2—7; Miss Curtis and Rutherfurd lost to Miss Winfield and Turner 6—7; Mrs. Budge and Young lost to Mrs. Nicholson and Hine 2—7.
Totals.—New- Plymouth 12 sets 133 games; Sportsdale 7 sets 104 games.
Te Ngutu Tennis Club played a match with Mangatoki at Mangatoki on Thursday. Mangatoki won by 25 games, the totals being: Mangatoki 125, Te Ngutu 100.
